About the Role
As an Employment & Labor Associate in our Parsippany, Stamford, or Hartford office, you will serve as a core member of a broad and expanding practice group. You will navigate complex employment compliance matters, support employer-side litigation strategies, and manage labor-relations issues for a diverse roster of clients ranging from individuals to Fortune 500 companies. Key Responsibilities
- Complex Litigation Management: Represent employers in all aspects of labor and employment litigation before state and federal courts, state and federal administrative agencies (including the EEOC), and in labor arbitration.
- Case & Document Development: Perform high-level legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and comprehensive legal memoranda regarding intricate labor laws, breach of contract, wage and hour violations, non-compete disputes, and discrimination allegations.
- Strategic Counseling: Partner closely with clients to understand the nuances of their unique workplaces, providing daily compliance counsel, conducting internal investigations, and drafting employment-related policies and agreements.
- Labor Relations Advocacy: Represent and advise employer clients on labor relations matters, navigating modern workplace disputes and appearing when needed before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
- Collaborative Execution: Deliver efficient, proactive legal solutions as a key member of a multidisciplinary team, working seamlessly across offices and disciplines to meet the evolving needs of clients across a wide range of industries.
Requirements
- Experience: 3-4 years of demonstrated employer-side employment and labor litigation experience. Background in non-compete litigation and experience counseling employers is highly preferred.
- Academic Background: JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials, excellent technical skills, and high-level legal research capabilities.
- Bar Admission: Active member in good standing of the bar in the jurisdiction you plan to practice (NJ or CT). Additional admission to NY, PA, or MA is a plus.
- Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, effective problem-solving capabilities, a team-oriented mindset, and the ability to work independently and proactively to develop creative solutions.
