Picture this: a vehicle arrives with intermittent electrical failures and weak braking. You trace the problem through a wiring diagram, confirm the fault, rewire the circuit, then resurface the rotors and replace a worn brake master cylinder. By day’s end, you’ve also inspected a hydraulic leak, routed a new line, and tuned a diesel engine to spec. If tackling a wide range of systems—from electronics to engines to hydraulics—sounds like your ideal day, this role is for you.
Role Highlights
- Emphasis on electrical diagnostics and repair, including reading and applying wiring diagrams
- Mechanical work such as replacing bearings and axle seals; resurfacing brake drums and rotors
- Rebuilds and component service: water/fuel pumps, A/C components, compressors, radiators
- Brake and suspension adjustments and realignments
- Complete system troubleshooting and repair across the vehicle
- Gasoline and diesel engine overhauls; diesel tuning and repairs
- Hydraulic system maintenance, routing/replacing lines, and leak detection
- Preventive maintenance: fluid replacements, lighting and electrical checks, exhaust component replacements
- Other duties as assigned to meet shop demands
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in a commercial or fleet maintenance and repair shop
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs; comfortable with bending, climbing, and stooping
- Own set of professional tools
- Valid Driver's License
- Steel toe boots
Compensation & Schedule
- Pay Rate: $24-32 per hour, depending on experience
- Shift: 1st
- Paid Time Off
