We are currently seeking a passionate, dedicated, and experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity to work on challenging cases and make a significant impact on the lives of our clients. As a Criminal Defense Attorney, you will represent clients in all stages of the criminal justice process, from investigation to trial, appeal, and beyond. You will be responsible for developing and implementing defense strategies, negotiating plea deals, and advocating for your clients in court.

Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal representation to clients charged with criminal offenses.
- Conduct thorough investigations, including visits to crime scenes, interviews with witnesses, and review of police reports and other evidence.
- Draft, file, and argue motions and other court documents.
- Represent clients at pretrial hearings, trials, sentencing hearings, and other proceedings.
- Negotiate plea deals with state attorneys.
- Collaborate with public defenders and other members of the defense team to develop and implement effective defense strategies.
- Maintain confidentiality and attorney-client privilege at all times.
- Stay updated on current laws and regulations, as well as recent court decisions that may affect your clients' cases.
- Provide clients with regular updates on the progress of their cases, and advise them on the potential outcomes and risks of different defense strategies.
- Assist clients with post-conviction issues, such as appeals and requests for expungement.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Florida state bar.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a criminal defense attorney.
- Proven track record of success in defending clients against criminal charges.
- Excellent research, writing, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills.
- Proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable, as many of our clients are Spanish-speaking.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients who may be facing significant stress and uncertainty.
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of legal ethics and professionalism.
- Passion for criminal defense work and a belief in the right of every individual to a fair trial and effective representation.
