McInnis Inc. is a dynamic HR & Recruiting firm serving clients in municipalities, pharmaceuticals, and hospitality. As our organization grows, we’re seeking a full-time IT Professional to support our internal technology infrastructure. This position focuses on Microsoft 365 optimization, IT support, and policy development, while also offering a unique opportunity to mentor and train a non-technical team member who will assist with ongoing IT and project support. This role may also play a strategic part in evaluating infrastructure and security tools. While our internal needs are as a small business, we offer supportive functions to clients including mid-sized companies and municipal organizations.

Job Description:
The IT Professional will manage and enhance our Microsoft 365 environment, enforce IT policies, and support day-to-day technical operations. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with Microsoft cloud services, security practices, and system troubleshooting, and can train others in simplified functions. While the current focus is on Microsoft 365 and support infrastructure, familiarity with tools like AppRiver, Mimecast, GoSecure, and other cybersecurity platforms is a plus especially as we explore system improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Microsoft 365 Administration: Manage Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Azure AD, ensuring performance and reliability.
  • Policy & Compliance Management: Develop, implement, and manage IT policies, access controls, and compliance frameworks across systems.
  • IT Infrastructure & Support: Troubleshoot issues in Microsoft 365 and Windows environments; provide general tech support and systems administration.
  • User Management: Handle user provisioning, permissions, and group policies within Microsoft 365 and Azure AD.
  • Security & Access Controls: Enforce device management and secure data sharing practices; support identity and access security initiatives.
  • Email & Threat Protection: Support spam filtering, email security, and threat prevention through AppRiver or comparable platforms (e.g., Mimecast, GoSecure, Blackpoint).
  • Staff Training & Mentoring: Conduct training sessions and guide a non-technical team member who will assist with computer setup, Microsoft 365 administration, and project support.
  • SharePoint Permissions Management: Configure and maintain access controls to ensure compliance and organized data management.
  • Occasional Travel: May need to help client with hardware setup, network configuration, and onsite IT tasks if needed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3+ years in Microsoft 365 administration, IT consulting, or system administration.
  • Core Technical Skills:
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Azure AD)
    • Experience with IT policy development, compliance, and access control
    • Proficiency in Windows environments, cloud platforms, and basic networking
    • Familiarity with email security tools such as AppRiver, Mimecast, or GoSecure
    • SharePoint permission management
  • Communication & Training: Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical users and support their learning
  • Mindset: Capable of identifying long-term IT solutions, projects that drive efficiency and security

This is a unique IT support role it’s a chance to train, and shape internal IT. You’ll help build processes that scale, with room to introduce tools and best practices.

Hours & Compensation:

  • Commitment: Full-time
  • Compensation: $30+ Depending on Experience
