The Lead Optician will oversee the daily operations of eyewear fitting and prescription verification, ensuring high-quality optical care and customer satisfaction. Managing a small team, this role involves handling a diverse range of eyewear products, including prescription glasses, contact lenses, safety, and specialty eyewear. The Lead Optician will also coordinate inventory and order processing through Officemate software, while fostering staff development and maintaining efficient appointment scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Fit eyewear and verify prescriptions for accuracy
- Manage inventory and process orders using Officemate software
- Select appropriate lenses for various eyewear needs
- Train and develop a small team of 1-3 members
- Adjust frames to ensure patient comfort and proper fit
- Schedule appointments efficiently
- Deliver exceptional customer service in a retail setting
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in opticianry
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in optical dispensing and patient assessment
- Skilled in frame adjustment and lens technology
- Experience with inventory management
- Strong customer service and team leadership abilities
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
