Job Description
To enhance executive decision-making through data-driven insights, the highly skilled Federal Acquisitions Data Analyst will be pivotal in transforming complex datasets into actionable intelligence that supports strategic planning, operational efficiency, and interagency coordination. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical acumen, a keen understanding of federal performance metrics, and the ability to communicate analytical findings clearly to senior leadership. The Data Analytics Support Professional will play a critical role in shaping policy outcomes, improving internal processes, and ensuring transparency across departmental initiatives.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and statistical software (e.g., R, Python, SAS).
- Experience with data governance, quality assurance, and standardization initiatives.
- Ability to translate raw data into executive-level dashboards, briefings, and decision support tools (DHS Workforce Analytics PIA).
- Familiarity with Executive Secretariat systems, including correspondence tracking and performance metrics.
- Ability to support decision-making through timely, accurate, and policy-relevant data products.
- Experience managing ad hoc data requests, recurring deliverables, and cross-component coordination (Office of the Executive Secretary Overview).
- Understanding of Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs), especially:

Desired Skills
- Familiarity with frameworks like DAMA DMBoK for data lifecycle, lineage, and security.
- Understanding of data collection methodologies and assumptions behind metrics.
- Statistical Analysis & Interpretation.
- Ability to perform exploratory data analysis (EDA), including correlation, distributions, and trend identification.
- Proficiency in calculating and interpreting key metrics (mean, median, variance)
- Skilled in organizing messy datasets, removing duplicates, and ensuring data consistency.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Three (3) to seven (7) years of experience in federal data analytics, performance management, or executive-level reporting.
- Prior experience supporting senior leadership or working within DHS, OMB, the U.S. Armed Forces, or federal security agencies.
