Position Summary

We are seeking a Manufacturing/Application Engineer to support manufacturing operations and serve as the subject matter expert for assigned machining and production processes. This role is responsible for process development, CNC programming, tooling design, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and production support to ensure high-quality and efficient manufacturing operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Create process drawings using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
  • Develop tooling layouts and machine setup documentation.
  • Generate CNC programs using CAM software such as Mastercam or Esprit for turning and milling applications.
  • Set up CNC machines, validate new programs, and establish repeatable production processes.
  • Create work instructions and train operators and setup personnel.
  • Evaluate emerging manufacturing technologies and recommend implementation opportunities.
  • Support capital equipment selection and manufacturing process improvements.
  • Analyze production workflows and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and throughput.
  • Provide technical support to production personnel for process and quality issues.
  • Continuously optimize manufacturing processes to improve quality, productivity, and cost effectiveness.
  • Select and validate appropriate tooling and fixturing.
  • Improve existing tooling and fixtures to support production requirements.
  • Support quoting activities by providing process and manufacturing input.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Communicate effectively with management, engineering, production, and quality teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred; or
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and demonstrated manufacturing experience.


Experience

  • 3–5 years of manufacturing engineering, application engineering, CNC programming, or related experience.

Technical Skills

  • CNC programming and machining knowledge.
  • CAD/CAM software proficiency (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Mastercam, Esprit, or similar).
  • ERP system experience (Epicor or equivalent preferred).
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Experience with process improvement and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting both turning and milling operations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to train and mentor production personnel.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.


Work Environment

  • Manufacturing and production environment.
  • Extended periods of standing, walking, and interacting with production equipment.
  • Occasional lifting of materials and tooling.
  • Exposure to machine noise, heat, and industrial equipment typical of a manufacturing
