Position Overview

As a Salon Assistant Manager, youll play a vital role in supporting our leadership team, overseeing shift operations, developing associates and receptionists, and maintaining exceptional guest experiences. You will be instrumental in cultivating team morale, driving efficiency, and upholding operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Support

  • Ensure every guest receives consistent, high-quality service.
  • Address and resolve guest concerns with professionalism and empathy.
  • Conduct post-service follow-ups and ensure satisfaction through CRM updates.

Operational Efficiency

  • Support and direct associates and receptionists to maintain workflow and service pace.
  • Manage day-to-day needs: appointments, break schedules, product inventory, salon cleanliness, and shift transitions.
  • Ensure compliance with salon policies, cleanliness, and safety standards.

Leadership & Development

  • Act as a coach and mentor to Level 1 and 2 Associates and Receptionists.
  • Conduct one-on-ones and support performance improvement plans when needed.
  • Provide real-time feedback and support growth through cross-training and goal setting.

Team Communication & Culture

  • Run daily huddles to align the team on goals and responsibilities.
  • Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and motivating work environment.
  • Promote fairness and consistency in all performance expectations and recognition efforts.

Administrative and Technical Operations

  • Manage scheduling adjustments to avoid overtime and ensure proper coverage.
  • Track performance metrics and assist in administrative reporting.
  • Utilize Google programs (Docs, Sheets, Forms) and salon software for daily operations.

Additional Duties

  • Opening and/or closing duties including cash reconciliation, cleanliness checks, and safety protocols.
  • Reporting to the Salon Director with daily recaps and updates.

What Were Looking For

  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience managing or leading a team of 5+ in a fast-paced environment.
  • People-First Leadership: You lead by example, communicate clearly, and resolve conflict with grace.
  • Operational Confidence: Skilled in scheduling, inventory, and software tools (Google Suite or Microsoft Office).
  • Bonus: Salon or service industry background preferred, but not required.
