About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Lead IT Project Manager to oversee and deliver high-impact technology projects. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and communication skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.
What You’ll Do
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and timelines, coordinating efforts across workstream leads and business owners.
- Maintain backlogs, user stories, and task boards to ensure effective tracking and delivery.
- Communicate project updates and manage expectations with all stakeholders.
- Lead cross-functional teams including data analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to achieve project goals.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while developing contingency plans as needed.
- Manage project scope, schedule, and cost changes with proper documentation and approvals.
- Track and manage project budgets, cost estimates, and financial reporting.
- Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and align with overall business objectives.
- Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to leadership and stakeholders.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify successes and improvement opportunities.
What You’ll Bring
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field; proven experience managing IT projects in complex, cross-functional environments.
- Project Management Expertise: Strong knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies; experience maintaining backlogs and user stories.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of software development processes, data management principles, Azure fundamentals, and project management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Leadership Skills: Ability to guide, motivate, and coordinate teams to deliver results.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Business Acumen: Familiarity with the insurance or reinsurance industry is a plus.
