Job DescriptionWe are looking for a detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our team in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. This Contract-to-permanent position focuses on managing, analyzing, and presenting data to support budgeting, reporting, and decision-making processes within a higher education environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Excel and Workday, along with a proactive approach to solving data-related challenges.

Responsibilities:
• Extract, analyze, and manipulate data from Workday reports and export it to Excel for further processing.
• Develop and maintain monthly reports by program or cost center to track and communicate budget usage.
• Monitor incoming payroll data every two weeks to ensure accurate categorization and flag any misallocations.
• Support the budgeting cycle by providing detailed insights into purchase orders and remaining budget balances.
• Respond to data-related inquiries and filter information by cost center to assist various stakeholders.
• Utilize Excel tools such as macros and advanced filtering to streamline data processing and reporting tasks.
• Collaborate with team members to manage and organize large datasets efficiently.
• Work on enhancing reporting processes, including learning to build reports in Workday and Adaptive systems.
• Provide guidance and direction for addressing data discrepancies while ensuring compliance with established protocols.• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced data manipulation techniques such as macros and filtering. • Familiarity with Workday and experience running pre-defined reports. • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data sets. • Knowledge of budgeting and financial tracking processes. • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills, with a focus on quantitative analysis. • Experience in data visualization and business intelligence tools is a plus. • Ability to manage multiple data requests and prioritize tasks effectively. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
