About the Role
Linked Energy Services is seeking a motivated and skilled Commercial Solar Technician to join our Field Technician team for a temporary 3‐month assignment (mid‐May through mid‐August) with opportunity for full‐time hire based on performance. In this hands‐on, senior role you’ll travel across Central and Northern California to inspect, maintain, and repair commercial PV systems—ensuring systems operate at peak performance while leading crews and communicating with customers and internal teams. Project is an Annual maintenance campaign for schools and municipalities across central and northern California. Prevailing wage requirements are in place and vary from county to county.
As a Commercial Solar Technician, you will take ownership of project execution in the field - Performing inspections, leading crews, and working closely with both internal teams and customer representatives. This position requires a flexible schedule, with the ability to work overtime and travel on weekends as needed. The ideal candidate is self-driven, safety-conscious, mechanically inclined, and thrives in dynamic environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects and coordinate field efforts
- Inspect, maintain, and repair commercial solar PV systems
- Troubleshoot and diagnose system issues and provide timely solutions
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections
- Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with project managers, site supervisors, and customers
- Document work completed and maintain accurate service records
Required Qualifications
- At least 4 years of hands-on commercial solar experience (Non installation/ Non Residential)
- Experience using PV Analyzer/IV Curve tracer (Seaward, Solmetric, Fluke, Etc.,.)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to travel extensively and work on job sites for extended periods
- Ability to work overtime and travel on weekends when required
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor conditions
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and handle physical demands of the job
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10/30 certification
- NABCEP certification
- Electrical or solar-related trade license
- Familiarity with solar monitoring and reporting systems
