FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER I – ELECTRO-MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT

Quest International | Washington, D.C. Area / Field-Based

Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour, plus overtime eligibility
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Budgeted Hours: 40 hours per week
Schedule: Full-time field service schedule, Monday through Friday, with customer-site scheduling, travel days, overtime, and overnight travel as business needs require
Travel: Up to 80%, including overnight travel

This is a hands-on field service role supporting medical, industrial, diagnostic, lab, manufacturing, OEM, and electro-mechanical equipment at customer sites.

You must be able to:

• Work a full-time 40-hour weekly schedule, with overtime as needed
• Travel up to 80%, including overnight travel
• Use your own reliable vehicle for work-related travel
• Maintain a valid driver’s license
• Obtain and maintain required auto insurance coverage
• Work independently at customer sites
• Use tools and troubleshoot physical equipment
• Work with wiring, connectors, sensors, motors, power supplies, circuit boards, harnesses, and assemblies
• Document service activity, repair findings, parts used, and next steps
• Accept the pay range of $24.00 - $29.00 per hour, plus overtime eligibility
• Complete the required Human Performance Test
• Lift up to 50 lbs and perform field service work in customer-site environments


REQUIRED AUTO INSURANCE COVERAGE

Candidates using a personal vehicle for work-related travel must be able and willing to maintain the required coverage below:

• $100,000 bodily injury liability per person
• $100,000 property damage liability
• $300,000 bodily injury liability per accident

OEM-specific equipment can be trained. Hands-on repair aptitude, travel readiness, documentation discipline, customer-site professionalism, and reliability are required.


WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Travel to customer sites for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
• Service electro-mechanical equipment used in medical, industrial, diagnostic, lab, manufacturing, or OEM environments
• Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs
• Troubleshoot equipment issues to the FRU, module, part, or component level
• Replace failed parts, modules, assemblies, or field-replaceable units
• Use a digital multimeter, hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
• Follow service manuals, SOPs, safety procedures, and customer requirements
• Document service activity, repair findings, parts used, and next steps
• Communicate professionally with customers, internal teams, and service leadership


WHAT YOU BRING

• 1+ year of hands-on technical repair, maintenance, installation, field service, industrial maintenance, medical equipment service, appliance repair, automotive diagnostics, electronics repair, or electro-mechanical experience
• Experience using a digital multimeter or similar diagnostic tool
• Experience with wiring, connectors, harnesses, mechanical assemblies, electronic components, or equipment modules
• Ability to read and follow service procedures, diagrams, technical documentation, SOPs, and safety requirements
• Strong customer communication and repair documentation skills
• Ability to work independently in customer-site, hospital, lab, industrial, or controlled environments
• Ability to work a full-time field service schedule with travel, overtime, and customer-site scheduling needs

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Medical equipment, industrial equipment, diagnostic equipment, lab equipment, manufacturing equipment, optical equipment, or OEM equipment
• FRU, module, part-level, or component-level troubleshooting
• Replacing boards, sensors, motors, wiring, power supplies, connectors, harnesses, or assemblies
• Experience using an oscilloscope, pressure/vacuum meter, frequency counter, power supply, or diagnostic tester
• Military technical training, trade school, BMET, electronics, electrical, automotive, aviation, robotics, industrial maintenance, or mechatronics
• Strong service documentation habits
• Command line or PowerShell experience is a plus

• Pay Range: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour

Actual compensation is based on job-related factors, including skills, experience, technical background, field service experience, diagnostic tool experience, and overall role alignment.
