JOB SUMMARY:

Graham & Associates is currently seeking a career-minded Project Scheduler with experience in heavy civil/infrastructure/transportation projects. The Project Scheduler will be tasked with scheduling multi-project work programs, including developing, monitoring, updating, reporting, and presenting project plans and schedules.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and updates summary-level as well as detailed schedules for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Review consultant and contractor-prepared schedules and provide analysis to project stakeholders.
  • Assign resources (cost, labor, or material) to activities and develop cash flow reports and resource histograms.
  • Evaluate critical and near-critical path activity sequences.
  • Determine reasonable schedule logic and constraints based on discussions with task owners and/or teams.
  • Identify schedule changes and trends
  • Develop earned value reports
  • Develop lists of design, procurement, construction, and post-construction activities based on the review of design documents, examination of site conditions, and discussions with Owners, design consultants, and contractors.
  • Identify major milestones, critical approvals, and long lead procurement items.
  • Develop realistic activity durations based on production rates and available manpower, based on discussions with task owners and/or teams.
  • Evaluate critical and near-critical path activity sequences.
  • Determine reasonable schedule logic and constraints based on discussions with task owners and/or teams.
  • Assess actual progress based on on-site inspections.
  • Prepare post-construction as-built schedules and lessons learned reports.

Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Five years' relevant experience • Strong technical, organizational, and coordination skills. • Ability to provide independent schedule analysis, contractor schedule review, and executive summary reporting.
  • Must have a strong understanding of CPM (Critical Path Method) concepts and calculations.
  • Strong understanding of earned value concepts, calculations, and rules of credit. • Must be highly articulate, have a clear and analytical approach to problem-solving, and have strong decision-making abilities. • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with transportation projects, including sidewalks, streetscapes, intersection improvements, bridges, and roadway mprovements, is preferred.

EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced knowledge in Primavera (P6) and Microsoft Project • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. • Strong technical, organizational, and time management skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates primarily in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
