WHO THIS ROLE IS FOR

This opportunity is a strong fit for an attorney who enjoys sophisticated, high-impact work in local government and is ready for a more sustainable, long-term platform without compromising the caliber of the work.

You may be coming from a firm where:

  • Billable expectations are high and the pace is constant, and you want a more sustainable model without stepping down in quality
  • Client access is limited, and you are ready for greater ownership of relationships and outcomes
  • Your practice is spread across multiple areas, and you are looking to focus more deeply on local government, special districts, or land use

Our client is a Colorado-based local government law firm with a long-standing team that has worked together for decades.

The practice is intentionally focused. The firm represents:

The role includes occasional travel throughout Colorado and some evening meetings with client boards and councils.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensed attorney in Colorado, in good standing
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • 5+ years of experience in a law firm or similar setting
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, boards, and stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Sound judgment with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience serving as general counsel to special districts or municipal entities
  • Background in real estate, land use, or related regulatory work
  • Comfort working directly with boards, councils, or public bodies

COMPENSATION & GROWTH

  • Annual salary reviews tied to performance and growth
  • Bonus opportunities, including up to 3% of base salary and additional performance-based incentives tied to billable hours
  • 401(k) with profit sharing, including a 4% match and up to 5.7% discretionary contribution

HEALTH & WELL-BEING

  • 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision (base plans)
  • Self-managed PTO with autonomy and accountability
  • 12 paid holidays
  • Life insurance (1x salary)
  • Long-term disability and optional short-term disability

WORKPLACE & CULTURE

  • Flexible work environment with remote options
  • On-site gym, locker room, and tenant lounge
  • Convenient Lakewood location within walking distance to restaurants
  • Free surface parking with optional garage parking
  • $50/month cell phone reimbursement
  • Costco membership
