ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY (5+ YEARS)

Salary Range: $140,000 – $170,000 (depending on experience)

Our client is a Colorado-based local government law firm with a long-standing team that has worked together for decades.

THE ROLE
This position offers substantive, hands-on legal work across a range of local government matters, with partner guidance and a clear path to increased responsibility.
Attorneys in this role:
- Draft contracts, ordinances, resolutions, and memoranda
- Advise boards, councils, and public entities
- Work directly with clients and professional consultants
- Participate in meetings with governing bodies
The role includes occasional travel throughout Colorado and some evening meetings with client boards and councils.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensed attorney in Colorado, in good standing
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- 5+ years of experience in a law firm or similar setting
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, boards, and stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Sound judgment with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience serving as general counsel to special districts or municipal entities
- Background in real estate, land use, or related regulatory work
- Comfort working directly with boards, councils, or public bodies
