A precision manufacturing company specializing in high-performance firearm components is seeking a CNC Programmer responsible for programming and optimizing complex machining operations. The role focuses on 5-axis and mill-turn CNC programming, using advanced CAM software to produce tight-tolerance components in a high-precision production environment.

Job Roles and Responsibilities

  • Program and optimize CNC machines including 5-axis and mill-turn systems.

  • Develop and modify CNC programs using Mastercam.

  • Work with advanced machining equipment including mill-turn and multi-axis centers.

  • Interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD models, and blueprints.

  • Apply GD&T standards to ensure precision manufacturing quality.

  • Select tooling, work holding methods, and machining strategies.

  • Troubleshoot CNC programs and machining issues to improve efficiency.

  • Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality production standards.

  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams for process improvements.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in machining and manufacturing workflows.

  • Work with probing routines and custom machining macros.

  • Assist in fixture design and process optimization where required.

Qualifications and Certifications

  • Minimum 5 years of CNC programming experience in precision manufacturing.

  • Strong experience with 5-axis CNC machining.

  • Hands-on mill-turn programming experience.

  • Proficiency in Mastercam (required).

  • Experience with CNC machines such as Okuma, Haas, Matsuura, and Eurotech preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading.

  • Ability to produce high-precision, tight-tolerance components.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in aerospace or firearms manufacturing preferred.

  • Knowledge of machining strategies, tooling, and fixture design.

  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
