JOB DESCRIPTION
REVELXP is currently looking for an experienced creative-minded individual to work in the design and documentation process for custom projects at indoor and outdoor venues. The Technical Design Manager will have experience in the documentation, management and development of temporary construction projects. This position will report to the Director of Design – Venue Solutions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Role Overview:
Lead technical design efforts remotely, overseeing the creation and management of precise 2D technical drawings primarily in AutoCAD, while coordinating with teams on project deliverables, inventory tracking via Excel or other method, and ensuring compliance with standards.
Primary duties to include, but not limited to the following:
- Direct the preparation and review of detailed 2D technical drawings and plans using AutoCAD, prioritizing precision for construction applications.
- Collaborate with Director of Design and Productions Team clarify requirements, align designs, and incorporate feedback into revisions.
- Manage organized documentation of drawings, revisions, supporting materials, and design libraries.
- Utilize Excel for advanced data management, including schedules, project tracking, electronic inventory oversight (monitoring stock levels, tracking movement, generating reports).
- Ensure all technical outputs comply with industry standards, building codes, and company guidelines.
- Integrate with Operations, Warehouses and Production teams to detail successful production plan for custom build projects
- Guide team members on best practices for technical documentation and CAD workflows.
Travel Requirements
- Site visits, when required for project planning and proposals
- On-site for builds as needed (particularly to ensure standards are maintained)
- Department/Corporate structure and planning sessions
Requirements:
WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT CANDIDATE?
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or higher in drafting, architecture, engineering, or related field.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D technical drawings.
- Strong Excel skills, including creating/updating spreadsheets for project tracking, data management, and inventory control.
- Excellent communication, time management, and leadership abilities.
- Proven ability to work independently in a fully remote environment with attention to detail.
Highly Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience with Revit, SketchUp, or other 3D modeling software as a supplement to core 2D technical focus.
- Prior remote drafting/design leadership or team coordination experience.
- Knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and industry standards.
- Effective communication, organizational, and management skills
- Previous client relationship management experience
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- Self-motivation that drives individual results while being a strong team player
- Possess a high energy, strong desire to achieve top results with a charismatic, positive “can-do” attitude
- Effectively communicate in verbal and written forms
- Ability to manage and coach various levels of team members
- Minimum five (5) years of applicable experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- Licensed professional registration in ACE field is not required, but a benefit.
