A leading engineering firm in the energy and utilities sector is hiring experienced Project Engineering Managers to oversee substation, distribution, and transmission line projects. This is a key leadership role for hands-on technical experts who thrive in both management and design execution.

About the Role
You will lead and mentor engineering teams while providing technical oversight across multiple high-voltage projects (69kV and above). The ideal candidate is a structural engineering professional who enjoys both strategic leadership and detailed PLS-CADD modeling work.

Responsibilities

  • Manage engineering projects from conceptual design through construction support

  • Oversee budgets, schedules, and scopes for services and EPC work

  • Provide mentorship and daily direction to engineers, focusing on skill growth and performance

  • Lead PLS-CADD modeling efforts, ensuring design accuracy and efficiency

  • Support structural design for foundations, framing, and materials (steel, concrete, and wood)

  • Collaborate closely with clients and cross-functional teams to ensure project success

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

  • 8 or more years of experience in utility or structural engineering (10+ preferred)

  • Strong background in substation or transmission line design at 69kV and above

  • Advanced proficiency in PLS-CADD (must rate your skills 8 out of 10 or higher)

  • Proven ability to manage and mentor engineering teams

  • Experience with foundation and framing design in steel, concrete, and wood
