Personal Care Assistants
Access Healthcare is looking for dedicated PCA(s)to provide essential in-home care services in Clark County and the Las Vegas Metropolitan area.
Position Summary:
The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) provides non-medical, hands-on support and supervision to adults aged 18 and older who have physical, cognitive, or medical conditions that limit their ability to complete activities of daily living (ADLs) independently. The goal is to support independent living, maintain dignity, and help delay or prevent institutionalization.
Key Responsibilities- Including but not limited to:
- Personal Care Assistance Help clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and other hygiene-related tasks while ensuring their dignity and comfort.
- Meal Preparation Assist with planning and preparing meals, ensuring adherence to any special dietary requirements.
- Housekeeping Duties Perform light household tasks such as cleaning kitchens and bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, changing linens, and laundry.
- Errands & Shopping Assist clients with grocery shopping, prescription pickups, and other essential errands.
- Safety & Well-being Monitoring Observe and report any changes in a clients health, behavior, or living conditions to supervisors.
- Record-Keeping Maintain accurate documentation of services provided, including time logs and client signatures.
- Compliance & Confidentiality Follow HIPAA regulations and all applicable safety and health guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications:
- Minimum of age 18
- High School education or the equivalent
- Two years PCA experience preferred
- Valid Nevada Drivers License
- Valid Auto Insurance
- Verifiable references (minimum of 3)
- Current physical and TB screen (within the last 12 months)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to prepare a balanced meal/medically prescribed diet
- Basic safety knowledge of specific medical equipment such as wheelchairs, hospital beds, walkers, cane, and oxygen
- Basic knowledge of bathing and personal care techniques
- Knowledge of client confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
- Drug free
- BLS/CPR and First Aide certifications
- Current Cultural Competency certification preferred
