This full-time position focuses on providing essential, individualized care to two remarkable students—a senior boy and a 16-year-old girl—ensuring their school days are safe, comfortable, and engaging.
Ideal candidates bring experience as a CNA or PCA and are eager to make a genuine difference. Compassion, patience, and confidence in managing behavioral needs are crucial, especially when working one-on-one with a nonverbal student with ASD who requires understanding and supportive behavioral intervention. Comfort assisting with personal care tasks, including toileting, diaper changes, and menstrual care, is essential for maintaining dignity and well-being.
Requirements:
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional, CNA, or PCA preferred
- Confidence and comfort responding to behavioral challenges, including aggression
- Ability to assist with comprehensive toileting and personal hygiene (diapers, menstruation care)
- Reliable personal transportation; position is not accessible by public transit
- Commitment to full-time schedule: 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (option to leave at 2:30 p.m. with lunch skipped)
- Professionalism, empathy, and strong communication skills
