D- Tech Quantitative Analyst (New York, New York): D- Tech Quantitative Analyst positions available. D. E. Shaw & Co., L.P. seeks full-time D- Tech Quantitative Analyst to work in its office in New York, New York. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain systematic forecasting models for the firm's credit-related computational trading strategies using advanced statistical, quantitative, and econometric techniques. Analyze and develop computer-based models for forecasting security returns, including both exchange-traded and over-the- counter bond, equity, and derivative instruments. Build quantitative models to statistically test and validate hypotheses through rigorous in-sample and out-sample testing. Construct mathematical models to forecast returns, smooth and filter noisy input data, and optimize statistical predictive power. Develop related infrastructure and analytical software in Python and various other computer languages. Write production code upon completion of forecasting models to trade strategy within systematic trading infrastructure. Optimize execution strategies, analyze model performance, and control risk. Obtain, evaluate, and process software and data from external vendors. The successful candidate will have a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Mathematics, Physics, Financial Engineering, or a related quantitative field of study, plus knowledge or experience in the following must have been gained through academic research and/or coursework: building and interpreting statistical models; linear algebra, calculus, and probability theory; using data analysis tools to visualize and present research results; Python; and, computer science and algorithms.
