Facilities Team Leader – Building Maintenance & Utility Control

About the Facility:
Isuzu North America Corporation is investing approximately $280 million to establish a new production facility in Greenville County, South Carolina. This 1 million-square-foot, state-of-the-art plant—set on over 200 acres—will feature a flexible production line capable of manufacturing both internal combustion and electric vehicles. Production will include the N-Series Gas, N-Series Electric, and F-Series Diesel trucks, Production will include the N-Series Gas, N-Series Electric, and F-Series Diesel trucks, with a targeted capacity of up to fifty thousand units annually by 2030.. Assembly operations are expected to launch in 2027, with expansion slated for 2028. Strategically located near I-85, I-26, and the Port of Charleston, the site supports streamlined logistics and consolidated operations under one roof. This initiative is projected to create over 700 new jobs in the area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Planning & Progress Management – Prepare and manage annual plans; track team performance.
- Emergency Response & Recovery – Lead troubleshooting and permanent solutions to system failures.
- Labor Management – Oversee staffing, coaching, and team member performance.
- Operational Oversight – Monitor day-to-day work execution and environmental conditions.
- Technical & Safety Guidance – Deliver hands-on support, instructions, and compliance leadership.
- Improvement Initiatives – Identify inefficiencies and lead Kaizen/continuous improvement projects.
- Subcontractor Management – Supervise vendor work related to building systems.
Systems You’ll Manage:
- HVAC, fire extinguishing systems, compressors, rooftop units, air/water heaters, sanitation, drainage, water supply, diesel/gas tanks, security systems, EV chargers, truck scales, and more.
- Coordination for regulatory inspections (e.g., SC DHEC, EPA, OSHA, local fire marshal).
Team & Culture:
- Reports to Maintenance Manager and Line Manager.
- Collaborates closely with internal engineers and contractors.
- Participates in hiring, onboarding, and employee development processes.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 7+ years of experience in facilities/building systems maintenance.
- 3+ years of team leadership or supervisory experience.
- Willingness to lead both hands-on and delegated work.
Preferred Certifications:
- Class 1 Electrician License, Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
- OSHA 30, HAZWOPER, NFPA/NICET Fire Alarm, EPA 608 (HVAC)
- Understanding of ISO9001 & ISO14001
- Facility Management Professional (FMP), CMRP (optional)
