Job Title: Epic Applications Analyst – Senior (Contract)

Location: Richmond, VA

Duration: 3 Months (Possible Extension)

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Applications Analyst to support the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of critical IT systems within the organization. This role involves solving complex technical problems, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring the reliable performance of enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have strong Epic application expertise, troubleshooting experience, and the ability to lead technical initiatives in a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and resolve complex application and system issues using advanced troubleshooting techniques.
  • Configure, implement, and optimize enterprise applications, including Epic modules where applicable.
  • Lead projects and coordinate team activities while providing status updates and performance feedback.
  • Conduct impact assessments and ensure documentation for system changes is complete.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business or clinical requirements and recommend effective solutions.
  • Act as the primary IT liaison between departments and technical teams.
  • Submit and manage vendor service requests and follow correction procedures when necessary.
  • Participate in system enhancements, upgrades, and implementation planning.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing.
  • Research emerging technologies and evaluate their potential impact on business operations.
  • Manage multiple priorities and provide updates on project and task progress.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of related experience, including 3+ years of direct IT application support experience.
  • Strong understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and application development processes.
  • Experience with application configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting tools.
  • Ability to perform system analysis, design, build, testing, and implementation planning.
  • Knowledge of enterprise system integrations and workflows across business or clinical environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education

Required:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field.

Certifications

Required:

  • At least one Epic application certification.

Preferred:

  • Epic certification in relevant modules.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Epic certification within required timelines if applicable.
