Job DescriptionAbout the Role:
Sylvan Learning Center in Marlton, NJ is looking for a passionate and patient Math Tutor to help students in Grade 5 and above unlock their full potential. Join a team dedicated to building confidence and academic success in a supportive, student-centered environment!
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, one-on-one or small group math tutoring sessions for students in Grade 5 and above
- Assess individual student needs and adapt instructional strategies accordingly
- Reinforce core math concepts including pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, and beyond
- Track and document student progress and communicate updates to Center Director
- Create a positive, encouraging learning environment that builds student confidence
- Collaborate with center directors to align tutoring with each student's personalized learning plan
Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in math at the middle school level and above
- Prior tutoring, teaching, or mentoring experience of minimum three (3) years preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students and parents
- Patient, encouraging, and adaptable teaching style
- Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
- Associate's degree or higher in Education, Mathematics, or a related field preferred
- Certified teacher
