POSITION SUMMARY
Genalyte is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Engineering Repair Technician to maintain and troubleshoot our fleet of complex medical devices. This role will be responsible for the assembly, testing, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and repair of IVD instruments and engineering prototypes. This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our diagnostic equipment, contributing directly to our mission of rapid blood diagnostic testing for all.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
These may include but are not limited to:
- Perform assembly, testing, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and repair of IVD electro-mechanical instruments and engineering prototypes
- Maintain and set up assembly/test equipment
- Record part lot data and test data to assembly documents/travelers as required
- Complete engineering prototype builds
- Provide feedback on build instructions to the design team on potential improvements and efficiencies
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
- Maintain compliance with all company policies, quality systems, and procedures
- Maintain a professional company image and attitude toward those inside and outside the company
- Maintain a high level of cooperation and positive interaction with team members and peers
- Troubleshoot and repair failed units
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Equivalent of 5 years combined education and related assembly experience (e.g., combined associate’s degree in a technical discipline with 3 years related experience)
- Proficiency with common assembly tools (hand tools, crimpers, soldering iron)
- Ability to independently carry out assignments with limited guidance in an accurate and effective manner
- Able to work in a team environment with a variety of people on multiple tasks
- Strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills
- Capable of learning and developing new skills relevant to work assignments
- Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Knowledge and ability to use MS Office and other business-related software systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
- Prior experience in production support for medical devices, including designing test fixtures, establishing test procedures, and determining performance specifications
SALARY RANGE
The base range for this role is $25 - $37 per hour. Individual pay may vary based on additional factors, including but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, work location, and relevant education or training. In addition to base salary, Genalyte provides generous benefits and equity opportunities.
