Job Details
The Maintenance Mechanic – General Mechanic Level II is responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting installations across the plant. This role requires hands-on expertise in mechanical systems, welding, and general maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and replace defective parts using hand and power tools.
- Perform preventive maintenance to ensure reliable operation of machinery, building systems, and support equipment.
- Conduct and document routine calibrations on process equipment and instruments.
- Assemble, install, or repair pipe systems, machinery, and mechanical equipment.
- Inspect drives, motors, belts, and bearings; lubricate and maintain components to factory standards.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using blueprints, manuals, and part catalogs.
- Operate hoists, cranes, and precision measuring tools safely and effectively.
- Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding for maintenance, fabrication, and repair applications.
- Record maintenance activities, parts usage, and repair costs.
- Follow all company, OSHA, and FDA safety and quality standards.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and maintenance requests.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial or mechanical maintenance preferred.
- Proficiency with MIG, TIG, and Stick welding and blueprint interpretation.
- Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and basic computer documentation tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude with the ability to read technical diagrams.
- Excellent safety awareness, communication, and attention to detail.
