Position Summary
The Cable Technician is responsible for preparing, sorting, labeling, bundling, and routing cables used in telecom, networking, and electrical assemblies. This role ensures cables are properly identified, organized, and prepared for installation or integration into larger builds.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort, label, and organize cables according to project specifications.
- Bundle and tie cables using lacing cord, zip ties, or other approved methods.
- Measure and cut cable lengths accurately based on instructions.
- Perform basic cable preparation such as stripping, crimping, or terminating (if required).
- Read wiring diagrams or labels to ensure correct cable routing.
- Maintain proper identification and documentation for all cables.
- Follow ESD and safety procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with cables, wiring, or assembly preferred.
- Ability to read basic diagrams or labels.
- Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand, bend, and work with hands for extended periods.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cable harnessing or wire assembly.
- Familiarity with telecom or low-voltage cabling.
- Ability to use hand tools such as strippers, crimpers, cutters, etc.
