The Custodial Engineer
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning & Maintenance
-
Perform routine cleaning (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, window washing).
-
Sanitize high-traffic and communal areas.
-
Deep-clean and restock restrooms.
-
Conduct seasonal upkeep of exterior spaces.
Minor Repairs
-
Perform minor plumbing, electrical, and fixture repairs.
-
Replace lightbulbs and maintain custodial equipment.
-
Conduct regular facility inspections and coordinate contractors as needed.
Safety & Security
-
Perform safety checks (fire extinguishers, emergency exits, first-aid kits).

Secure doors, locks, and windows after hours.
-
Identify and resolve potential hazards (slippery floors, exposed wiring).
-
Follow OSHA, ADA, and building safety standards.
Reporting & Communication
-
Maintain logs of cleaning, maintenance, and repair tasks.
-
Communicate supply needs and maintenance issues to management.
-
Coordinate with vendors for specialized services.
-
Assist with meeting/event setup and general building services.
Advisory & Strategic Support
-
Recommend preventative maintenance schedules and facility improvements.
-
Provide input on budget allocation and resource efficiency.
-
Advise leadership on OSHA, ADA, fire code, and environmental compliance.
-
Report on risks, trends, and sustainability initiatives.
Qualifications
-
Experience in custodial work, building maintenance, or related field (office environment preferred).

Proficiency with custodial equipment and tools.
-
Basic repair skills (plumbing, electrical, structural).

Knowledge of OSHA, ADA, and safety standards.

Strong organizational and communication skills.
-
Physical stamina to perform custodial and maintenance tasks.

High school diploma or equivalent (required).
