Job Description

Job description

A well-established manufacturing company has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join its Operations Team at its headquarters located in the St. Louis area. In this role, you'll be responsible for assembling, inspecting, installing, and testing equipment to ensure everything is running smoothly. You’ll also handle facility and equipment maintenance, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and complete emergency repairs when needed. This role requires the ability to identify breakdown causes and implement solutions quickly, sometimes under pressure. You’ll work with schematics, measurement tools, and a wide variety of mechanical systems.

This is a hands-on role that can be physically demanding—expect to spend time on your feet, working in tight spaces, lifting heavy tools, and moving equipment.

Why Join Us?
We are grounded in a culture that encourages creativity, inclusiveness, and growth. Team members have access to advanced manufacturing operations and a collaborative environment where ideas are welcomed and development is supported. The pace is fast, the opportunities are real, and your contributions will make a visible impact.

If you have manufacturing maintenance experience and are ready to work with a team that values your skills and perspective, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support production and manufacturing by maintaining machinery, plumbing, building structure, and electrical systems
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime
  • Inspect and test equipment to detect malfunctions
  • Read and follow blueprints, schematics, manuals, and charts
  • Examine parts for defects such as wear or damage
  • Disassemble and reassemble machinery and components
  • Repair, replace, adjust, and align components using hand tools, welding torches, lifts, and hoists
  • Test equipment post-repair to ensure full functionality
  • Document mechanical maintenance findings and trends
  • Ensure timely completion and documentation of preventive maintenance tasks
  • Maintain clear communication among work teams regarding ongoing needs and irregularities
  • Order and track parts and supplies as needed
  • Maintain a safe, clean workspace by following all safety protocols

Physical Requirements & Environment:

  • Must be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 40 lbs, bend, push, and walk
  • Exposure to loud machinery, chemicals, heat, and humidity is expected

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Paid time off
  • Comprehensive insurance offerings (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Short-Term Disability, and more)
  • Company-sponsored Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA)
  • 401k with employer contributions
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • Wellness initiatives
  • Convenient location near scenic walking trails

Equal Opportunity Employer
We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace.

Requirements:

  • Two-year degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance (or equivalent) with 3+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing or industrial maintenance
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair CNC machines, lathes, mills, and other production equipment
  • Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronically controlled machinery
  • Strong understanding of 480v electrical systems and ability to interpret schematics
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting equipment and identifying root causes
  • Familiarity with Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and hazardous material handling
  • Skilled in operating lathe, drill press, grinders, and other fabrication tools
  • Ability to weld using MIG, TIG, and stick welding methods
  • Competency in Microsoft Office and preventive maintenance software
  • Experience with specific machinery (such as Mazak, Fadal, Brown & Sharpe) is a plus
  • Exposure to Lean manufacturing principles is preferred
  • Experience with brazing or welding automation is a bonus
