IT Technician - Entry-Level or Experienced

Job DescriptionComputer Solutions Group in Albuquerque is hiring an IT Technician to join our growing team. We’re looking for candidates with a strong technical background—whether through education (e.g., electrical engineering, computer science) or hands-on troubleshooting experience. While previous IT experience is preferred, no direct IT experience is required—we provide comprehensive on-the-job training in InfoSec, IT support, networking, and system administration.

What You’ll Do:

• Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues on customer devices
  
  
• Provide remote and onsite support for new software and computer systems
  
  
• Set up and configure computers, routers, printers, and peripheral devices
  
  
• Install and maintain software across customer networks
  
  
• Optimize and maintain local network performance
  
  
• Implement security and privacy best practices in accordance with industry standards
  
  
• Schedule and perform upgrades and maintenance with minimal disruption
  
  
• Document all service activities clearly and accurately
  
  
• Identify and recommend remediation for security or configuration issues
  
  
• Deploy and service systems in secure environments when required
  
  
• Configure and deploy DVR/NVR systems and security cameras
  
  
• Install and troubleshoot wireless PTP/PMP bridges and access points
  
  
• Refurbish and repurpose IT equipment
  
  
• Occasionally assist with eCommerce operations (repairing, listing products)
  
  

What We’re Looking For:

• Technical background required – degree or experience in electrical engineering, computer science, or similar fields
  
  
• Preferred: experience in InfoSec, IT, computer repair, networking, or system administration
  
  
• US citizenship required
  
  
• Valid NM driver's license required
  
  
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and safely climb ladders/stairs
  
  
• Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
  
  
• Good verbal and written communication
  
  
• Professional, positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills
  
  
• Willingness to occasionally work nights/weekends as needed
