ASSYST is seeking a Senior Scrum Master to support our client project in Austin, TX.

Position will be 3 days remote with 2 days (Mondays and Thursdays) required to be onsite

Scope of work:

Understands business objectives and problems, identifies alternative solutions, performs studies and cost/benefit analysis of alternatives. Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing computer system: Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements, such as forms of data input, how data is to be; summarized, and formats for reports. Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs. Reviews computer system capabilities, specifications, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within the existing system.

  • The Scrum Master is responsible for facilitating Agile delivery, enabling high‑performing cross‑functional teams, and ensuring consistent application of Scrum principles and practices.
  • This role supports delivery of enterprise data, analytics, and modernization initiatives by fostering collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • The Scrum Master serves as a servant leader and coach to the product owner, development team, and stakeholders, removing impediments, promoting Agile best practices, and ensuring alignment with program and organizational goals.

Required Experience:

  • Experience serving as a Scrum Master for Agile teams delivering technology or data platforms.
  • Experience facilitating Sprint Planning, Daily Stand‑ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Proven ability to identify, track, and remove impediments impacting team delivery.
  • Experience coaching teams on self‑organization, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience using Agile lifecycle management tools (e.g., Jira).
  • Ability to support reporting on velocity, sprint metrics, and delivery progress.
  • Experience working in enterprise or large-scale IT initiatives.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working on state or government technology projects.
  • Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent).
