Summary: Harness IP is a leading intellectual property law firm consistently ranked among the top ten patent law firms in the U.S. We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney to join our Herndon, VA office. This position is ideal attorneys with at least 1 - 5 years of some experience who have technical background in electrical engineering.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze newly assigned and existing matters, ensuring effective legal representation from initiation to conclusion.
- Draft, review, and finalize legal documents in accordance with firm procedures.
- Conduct thorough legal research using all available resources, including legal databases and libraries.
- Provide well-founded legal opinions and strategic counsel to clients.
- Conduct negotiations, where appropriate, to effectively resolve client matters.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school (2025 graduates are encouraged to apply).
- Admission to the DC and/or VA state bar (or eligibility to sit for the bar exam upon graduation).
- Undergraduate or advanced degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Electrical Engineering (required).
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Billable Hours:
This position offers a total of 1,900 billable hours, which may be adjusted on a case-by-case basis depending on experience and education.
