Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on, business-minded AI Manager to lead our client's enterprise AI transformation across a growing private equity-backed organization with operations in the Carolinas. This is a highly visible role responsible for evaluating business operations, identifying opportunities to leverage artificial intelligence, and building and executing a practical AI roadmap that delivers measurable business value.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable meeting with operational leaders, mapping business processes, evaluating emerging AI technologies, building AI-enabled workflows, and leading implementation efforts. This individual will serve as both strategist and practitioner—working cross-functionally to identify high-impact use cases, deploy AI solutions, drive user adoption, and continuously improve business performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Evaluate business operations across departments to identify opportunities for AI-driven automation, workflow optimization, and operational improvements.
- Develop and maintain a multi-year enterprise AI roadmap aligned with strategic business priorities and growth objectives.
- Lead the hands-on implementation of AI solutions, from pilot projects through enterprise deployment and adoption.
- Partner with leaders across Operations, Finance, Sales, HR, Customer Service, Marketing, and IT to redesign processes using AI and automation.
- Assess, recommend, configure, and deploy AI platforms, copilots, workflow automation tools, and emerging technologies that create measurable ROI.
- Build business cases and prioritize AI initiatives based on impact, cost, scalability, and implementation complexity.
- Translate business challenges into practical AI solutions that improve productivity, customer experience, reporting, forecasting, and decision-making.
- Manage AI vendors, implementation partners, and software evaluations while ensuring technology investments align with business goals.
- Establish governance, security, and responsible AI practices that balance innovation with risk management and compliance.
- Develop training programs and change management strategies that encourage AI adoption across the organization.
- Create metrics and dashboards to measure AI utilization, operational improvements, cost savings, and return on investment.
- Stay current on emerging AI technologies and continuously identify new opportunities to create competitive advantage.

Qualifications
\n

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
- 5–10+ years of experience in AI, digital transformation, business process improvement, automation, technology consulting, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated success identifying business opportunities and implementing AI solutions that improve operational performance.
- Strong understanding of generative AI, large language models, workflow automation, machine learning fundamentals, data analytics, and AI governance.
- Experience with enterprise AI platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI, OpenAI, Google Workspace AI, Salesforce AI, or similar technologies.
- Ability to analyze complex business processes and design practical AI-enabled solutions.
- Strong project management and implementation skills with experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Excellent communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes.
