Salary Range: $85,000-$95,000
BlackEdge Ventures is a locally owned, multi-industry operating group headquartered in Twin Falls, Idaho. We own and operate a diverse portfolio of companies, ranging from automotive repair and construction to manufacturing. Functioning as the centralized Shared Services Hub for our operating entities, we provide the strategic infrastructure and support that allows our businesses to scale effectively. We pride ourselves on a culture of high agency, practical innovation, and long-term value creation, building a team of dedicated professionals to support our next phase of aggressive growth.
Job Summary:
The IT Manager will serve as the strategic technology partner for the BlackEdge Ventures portfolio, bridging the gap between digital strategy and on-the-ground operations. In this high-impact role, you will lead our technology initiatives, ensuring our systems are secure, efficient, and integrated. You will manage a diverse stack; including cloud identity (Azure/Intune), cybersecurity defense, and critical software integrations (APIs); while maintaining the flexibility to handle physical infrastructure and wiring projects in the field. We are looking for a proactive problem solver to stabilize and professionalize our IT landscape, serving as the primary technology resource as we continue to acquire and scale new businesses.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
1. Hands-On Infrastructure & Networking
- Physical Setup: Execute low-voltage wiring, termination, and network rack cleanups for new and existing shops/offices.
- Device Prep: Unbox, image, and deploy Windows workstations and Chromebooks across manufacturing and retail environments.
- Troubleshooting: Serve as the primary point of contact for all hardware/software issues.
- Network Admin: Manage firewalls, switches, and WAPs to ensure uptime for critical operations (e.g., auto shops need consistent uptime for cloud-based quoting).
2. Cloud Administration & Security
- Identity Management: Manage Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) for secure, single-sign-on access across the portfolio.
- Device Management (MDM): Deploy and manage Microsoft Intune or similar MDM to secure mobile devices, tablets, and laptops remotely.
- Policy Enforcement: Ensure all endpoints are patched, secured, and compliant with company standards.
3. Integrations & Vendor Management
- API & Data Flow: Manage API connections between our disparate business systems (e.g., connecting Service Titan or Auto Quoting software to our financial backend).
- ERP Support: Act as the technical point of contact for our Microsoft Business Central partners, ensuring the internal systems talk to the ERP correctly.
- Vendor Accountability: Since you are a team of one, you must effectively manage MSPs or software vendors to ensure they deliver on their contracts.
4. Policies & Security
- Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices aligned with organizational goals.
- Endpoint Protection: Deploy and manage antivirus/EDR solutions across all workstations and servers to prevent ransomware and malware.
- Access Control: Enforce strict Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) policies across all email and business applications.
- Threat Response: Monitor for suspicious activity and act immediately to isolate threats. You are the first and last line of defense.
- Disaster Recovery: Manage backups for critical data and ensure we can restore operations quickly in the event of a failure or attack.
- User Training: Conduct basic security awareness training (e.g., anti-phishing) for employees to reduce human error.
Requirements:
Skills & Qualifications:

- 5+ years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of networking, server management, and cybersecurity principles.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
