We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Irwindale, CA, specializing in the upkeep and repair of woodworking equipment. This role is critical in ensuring the longevity, safety, and efficiency of our wood shop operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and the use of hand tools specific to woodworking machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular maintenance and inspections on woodworking equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and cleaning supplies for repair and upkeep tasks.
- Apply lubricants and perform cleaning procedures on machines to prevent buildup and minimize wear.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in woodworking machinery, including dust collection and electrical systems.
- Inspect, calibrate, and align shop machines, such as CNC machine and woodwork manufacture machines; replace worn or damaged parts as needed.
- Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and part replacements.
- Follow all safety protocols, including the use of protective gear and proper lockout/tagout procedures.
- Collaborate with shop supervisors and other team members to schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 3–15 years of hands-on maintenance experience, preferably in a woodworking, aerospace or industrial environment.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and basic power tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with lubrication, inspection, hydraulic maintenance and replacement of mechanical components.
- Knowledge of calibration, alignment, and preventive maintenance practices for woodworking equipment.
- Familiarity with maintenance of dust collection and basic electrical systems.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety procedures and protocols.
- Computer/ Software Knowledge is a PLUS.
