Job DescriptionSalary: $55,000-$65,000 per year

Washington National Opera (WNO) is seeking a Development Operations Coordinator to ensure the Development teams day-to-day operations are conducted in a streamlined and efficient manner, while also assisting in the success and growth of the teams annual fundraising goals. This position works closely with the Director of Development to help organize and execute the daily administrative and fundraising activities for WNO. This role will be responsible for improving and managing team processes and workflows, helping with event management and donor stewardship, and will be the administrative lead for the overall team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manage gift processing
  • Maintain and update donor records, track donation history, and generate reports within CRM system
  • Manage processes such as donor ticket requests, performance seat book list pulls and donor briefings.
  • Provide support to the development team in the research and identification of potential donors
  • Ensure purchase orders, invoices and reimbursements relevant to the development team are completed in a timely manner.
  • Assist in organizing donor cultivation events, campaigns, and stewardship activities.
  • Lead team-wide office supply orders and WNO material purchases
  • Maintain development department calendar.
  • Provide donor facing assistance to the Director of Development as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree or applicable professional experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in development or fundraising, preferably in a non-profit setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with a nonprofit CRM database required
  • Proficiency with project management software and tools
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of the development or non-profit sector
  • A clear understanding of Washington National Operas mission
  • Ability to deftly manage many relationships and personality types, both internal among staff members, and external among constituents
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to attend donor events, performances, and meetings as needed
  • Knowledge of opera is a plus, but a passion for the performing arts is essential.
