Located at the corner of 16th and Q Streets NW, the EDCJCC boasts a 65,000 square foot historic building offering diverse programs including theater, cinema, social, educational, recreational, professional meetings, and child and family events.

About the role:
The EDCJCC is seeking a Full-Time Facilities Coordinator to be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the physical condition of the Center and surrounding grounds, according to the Center’s operating and safety standards, along with fulfilling requests and for event set-ups. This may require periodic overtime and on-call duties. The coordinator reports directly to theFacility Manager and works closely with the rental and events managers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform basic maintenance tasks, which may include:
- Basic appliance repair
- Basic plumbing
- Basic electrical repair
- Basic drywall/sheetrock repair
- General carpentry
- Wallpaper/painting
- Pest control, as needed
- Use of basic cleaning supplies and equipment
- Additional duties and requirements as needed
- Support event rentals and internal events, which may include:
- Room set-up and break-down (tables, chairs, etc.)
- Support with audio-visual systems
- Guiding caterers and other external vendors
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma.
- A minimum of three (2-3) years of experience with facility maintenance and/or events support.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Keen attention to detail and organization skills.
- Ability to manage multiple event projects simultaneously.
- A passion for providing outstanding customer experiences.
- Required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, lift 50 lbs., and assist in the set up and break down of events.
- ABRA certification not required, but would be a big plus.
- Fluency in English required, Spanish would be a big plus.
- Ability to pass an FBI fingerprint/background check.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Full-time, exempt; year-round; on-site
- Salary range $20-$24 per hour
