Job Description

General: Support customer flight operations by performing duties as an Instructor Pilot. Mission location will be disclosed at time of interview/hire.

Responsibilities:

• Lead operation of UAS in accordance with applicable regulatory flight approvals

• Follow and execute test plans and test cards, in conjunction with test engineering and mission operations

• Coordinates ground and flight operations including mission planning, execution, and debriefing; safe operation of the aircraft; aircrew resource management; and customer coordination.

• Assist with non-routine experimental program

• Provides recommendations for manual updates, and flexible enough to adapt to sudden changes in mission tasking.

• Provides advice and feedback on corrective actions.

• Provides technical assistance and guidance to other technical personnel.

• Work with engineering on functionality issues and procedure updates.

• Communicate with engineering on product performance and functionality issues.

• Assist the Technical support group with our customer needs for technical support.

• Supports the operations and testing of UAS platforms

• Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to supervisor

•Conduct simulator (HIL or SIL) training for students and AVO’s

•Conduct currency flights in both CONUS and OCONUS locations

•Provides feed back to the flight operations team student progression and training status

•Works with the Chief Pilot to ensure DCMA 8210.1C compliance


Minimum Requirements:

  • 4-6 yrs of experience in this field
  • HS Diploma/Associate's
  • 1,000-1,500 hours flying experience
  • FAA Class II Medical Certificate, >200 hours previous Instructor
  • Ability to work extended hours and shift work

Preferred Experience:

  • Piccolo Experience; Demonstrated experience flying inter-country missions; Payload and Gimbal Operating Experience; FAA Instrument Rating; FAA Commercial Pilot License
  • Graduate from group 3 DOD UAS Course or FAA private pilot license w/instrument rating
  • 300-500 hrs ULTRA or LEAP Flight Experience
