Position Overview
We are seeking a highly responsible and experienced Security Specialist to develop, implement, and maintain the company’s security programs. This role will oversee the protection of personnel, assets, facilities, and information, and will coordinate with other departments to ensure a safe and secure work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve company security policies, procedures, and standards to safeguard facilities, employees, and assets.
- Manage day-to-day security operations, including guard scheduling, access control, surveillance systems, and incident reporting.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits, identify vulnerabilities, and oversee corrective actions.
- Coordinate and execute emergency response and crisis management plans (fire, theft, natural disasters, workplace violence, etc.).
- Liaise with local law enforcement, fire departments, and other regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and effective incident response.
- Train and raise employee awareness on security policies, emergency procedures, and loss prevention.
- Prepare reports and maintain records on security incidents, inspections, and compliance metrics.
- Perform other security-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Public Safety, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in corporate security, safety, or related fields; experience in large facilities, logistics, or industrial environments is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of security systems, access control, CCTV, and applicable safety regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to assess risks, handle emergencies, and lead incident response efforts.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and team management skills.
- Professional certifications in security or safety (e.g., Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Safety Engineer, Security Supervisor License) are an advantage.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience managing security programs across multiple sites or international locations.
- Ability to develop and optimize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Familiarity with procurement, installation, and maintenance of security technologies.
