Job Description

The Red Gate Group is seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to join our team in support of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). This role is embedded within the Cyber & Enterprise Operations Division and plays a critical part in safeguarding the agency’s information systems through implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and continuous security oversight.

As an ISSO, you will advise and guide programs through the full system accreditation process and ongoing maintenance, ensuring alignment with Intelligence Community (IC), DoD, and DIA cybersecurity policies. You will support high-impact initiatives that secure national defense systems against cyber threats while working alongside project teams, system owners, and security stakeholders.

This position is ideal for a cybersecurity professional with deep RMF experience, a proactive mindset, and a mission-driven approach to protecting critical systems in complex environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead programs through the assessment and authorization (A&A) lifecycle to obtain and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO)

  • Evaluate and ensure compliance of technical documentation with applicable cybersecurity standards

  • Recommend security monitoring tools and ensure vulnerabilities are identified, mitigated, and tracked

  • Coordinate with technical teams and DIA stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve IA-related issues

  • Establish, implement, and audit RMF-compliant security standards, SOPs, and configurations

  • Develop and maintain RMF documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), risk assessments, POA&AMs, and audit policies

  • Oversee incident response readiness, COOP/DR planning, HBSS implementation, and continuous monitoring strategies

  • Serve as a trusted cybersecurity advisor, delivering actionable recommendations to reduce risk across enterprise systems

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to pass a CI Polygraph

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in RMF/IA cybersecurity

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Master’s degree preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of DoD cybersecurity processes including RMF and DIACAP

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to convey technical information to stakeholders

Preferred Certifications:

  • CISSP, Security+, or other recognized cybersecurity certifications
