Title: Field Service Engineer
Location: Remote (Must live near an airport)
Salary: $35 -$48/hr + OT + 70$ per diem + company credit card
Requirements: Able to travel locally up to 70% throughout the US; MUST PROGRAM PLCs from scratch Founded in 2008, this organization has grown to roughly 50-200 employees overall, with approximately 50-60 team members supporting operations at the Waukesha, WI facility where engineering, manufacturing, service, and support activities are centralized. The company designs and manufactures beverage, liquid, chemical, and personal care processing systems, including inline liquid blending technology, deaeration, carbonation and nitrogenation systems, flash pasteurization, CIP on-demand systems, and can filling solutions. At the Waukesha location, teams focus on engineering, manufacturing, and servicing these systems, providing turnkey integration, process controls, on-site services, and aftermarket technical support to customers across the food and beverage, consumer products, chemical, and liquid processing industries. This Field Service Engineer will serve as a key technical resource responsible for supporting installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of advanced beverage and liquid processing systems for clients across these industries. Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and validate processing equipment including inline liquid blending systems, deaeration units, carbonation/nitrogenation systems, and CIP on-demand solutions, ensuring optimal system performance.
- Perform on-site troubleshooting, diagnostics, and root cause analysis for mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues across blending, batching, filling, and pasteurization systems.
- Provide technical training and operational guidance to customer personnel on equipment use, maintenance practices, and process optimization strategies.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and controls teams to communicate field insights, equipment performance data, and recommendations for design or process improvements.
- Maintain accurate service documentation, site reports, and recommended corrective actions while upholding high standards for customer satisfaction and system reliability.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with hands-on experience supporting industrial processing equipment, ideally within beverage, food, chemical, or liquid manufacturing environments.
- Working knowledge of process systems such as blending, batching, carbonation, deaeration, CIP, filling, or related sanitary processing technologies.
- Familiarity with PLC-based controls, instrumentation, sensors, pumps, valves, and related automation hardware (experience with process controls engineering is a plus).
- Ability to travel frequently, work independently in customer production environments, and manage multiple service assignments with strong communication skills. (Supported by the service-oriented nature of the company)
- Nice to have: Prior experience in field service, equipment commissioning, or technical support for complex liquid processing systems; exposure to sanitary design standards or beverage manufacturing best practices
