Position : Sr. Java Developer
Location : Phoenix, AZ Onsite
Duration : long term contract
Job Summary:
We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to lead the design and development of scalable, mission-critical systems powering the organization’s next generation.
You will work across teams, influence technical direction, and mentor engineers. You will be expected to balance long-term architectural vision with hands-on implementation and immediate business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain distributed systems handling millions of requests per day
- Lead architecture reviews and technology roadmap planning
- Drive engineering best practices (code reviews, testing, CI/CD, observability)
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define scalable solutions
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on code quality and design
- Identify and solve complex, ambiguous problems across the stack
- Own end-to-end delivery from planning to post-launch support
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer science or related field
- 12+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong in data structures, algorithms, and system design
- Expertise in one or more languages: Java, C++, Python, Go
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
- Proven ability to lead complex technical projects independently
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in designing large-scale distributed systems
- Deep understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture, or streaming platforms
- Familiarity with DevOps tooling, containerization, CI/CD
- Strong ownership, bias for action, and problem-solving skills
- Prior experience mentoring or leading a small engineering team
- Track record of making data-driven architectural decisions
