Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to oversee the daily operations of our dietary department. The ideal candidate will ensure that residents receive nutritious, high-quality meals that meet regulatory requirements, physician orders, and individual dietary needs. This role combines leadership, food service management, nutrition oversight, and compliance responsibilities to support resident health and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise all dietary department operations, including food preparation, meal service, sanitation, and inventory control.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including food safety and healthcare dietary standards.

  • Collaborate with the Registered Dietitian, nursing staff, and healthcare providers to implement and monitor therapeutic diets.

  • Develop menus that meet nutritional guidelines, resident preferences, and budget requirements.

  • Train, schedule, and supervise dietary staff to maintain efficient department operations.

  • Monitor food quality, portion control, and meal presentation.

  • Maintain accurate records related to food production, sanitation, temperatures, inventory, and resident dietary needs.

  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and adherence to safety standards.

  • Manage food and supply purchasing while controlling costs and minimizing waste.

  • Address resident and family concerns regarding meal service and dietary accommodations.

QualificationsRequired

  • Current Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of food service management, nutrition principles, and healthcare dietary regulations.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

  • Experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or healthcare setting.

  • ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification or equivalent.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

  • Ability to work in kitchen and food service environments with varying temperatures.
