Engineering Manager (Manufacturing)
Location: Minnesota
About the Role
We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a Manufacturing Engineering team. This role is closely tied to the production floor — supporting operations, improving processes, and making sure engineering work is practical and aligned with day-to-day needs.
This is a mix of leadership and hands-on involvement. The right person will help set direction for the team, remove roadblocks, and step in when needed, while mostly focusing on enabling the team to be successful.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and develop the Manufacturing Engineering team
- Set priorities and manage workload across projects and production support
- Partner closely with operations to address day-to-day manufacturing challenges
- Drive process improvements focused on quality, efficiency, and cost
- Support new product introductions and transitions into production
- Help troubleshoot complex issues and remove roadblocks for the team
- Standardize processes, documentation, and best practices
- Work cross-functionally with supply chain, procurement, and other teams
- Help build a strong, collaborative, and accountable team environment
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of engineering experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment
- Prior leadership experience managing or mentoring engineers
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments
- Experience supporting operations and solving real-time issues
- Practical, solutions-oriented mindset
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
Nice to Have
- Experience leading Manufacturing Engineers specifically
- Background in continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
- Experience with process standardization or scaling production
- Experience in a fast-paced or growing environment
