Taylor Sudden Service is looking for an experienced Field Service Mechanic (FSM) to join our team! If you have strong skills in industrial forklift repair, diesel engines, hydraulics, and field diagnostics, this is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career with a respected, long-standing industry leader.
As a Field Service Mechanic, you’ll represent the Taylor brand directly at customer sites—delivering exceptional service, supporting equipment performance, and strengthening customer relationships through our “Service After the Sale” commitment.
✅ What You’ll Do
• Diagnose and repair industrial forklifts and material-handling equipment
• Perform on-site service, maintenance, and inspections
• Support new equipment delivery, operator training, and warranty requirements
• Document time, parts, travel, and repair details accurately
• Maintain a clean, professional service truck and company image
• Continue developing your skills through company-sponsored training
• (Advanced FSMs) Mentor new technicians and assist with complex troubleshooting
✅ What You Bring
• Industrial forklift repair & heavy equipment maintenance experience
• 3+ years in diesel mechanics & hydraulic systems (or technical schooling)
• Strong mechanical & electrical troubleshooting skills
• Valid driver's license and clean MVR (DOT certifiable, must be 21+)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb, bend, and work in field environments
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays
• Ability to pass welding tacker test (AWS D14 encouraged for advancement)
