Job Description
The Lead – Customer Liaison Escort supports the On-Site Manager by overseeing daily operations associated with the receiving, staging, and movement of commercial vehicles in accordance with installation laws, regulations, and policies for the Camp Lejeune Customer Vetting Contract. In this role, the Lead ensures accurate verification of drivers, delivery documentation, and escort credentials while maintaining safe and efficient control of parking and staging areas. The position includes performing all standard Customer Liaison Escort duties such as checking vehicles in and out of the lot, controlling authorized entries, monitoring parking activity, and referring issues to the appropriate authorities. The Lead may also be required to move or park vehicles to support operational flow.
Working directly under the On-Site Manager, the Lead serves as the second‑in‑charge for onsite operations and provides daily guidance, oversight, and support to the escort team. This includes monitoring employee performance, ensuring compliance with operational and safety requirements, addressing onsite conflicts, reporting incidents, and implementing directives through the chain of command. The Lead is responsible for training new hires and reinforcing procedures with existing personnel, maintaining proper staffing coverage throughout the workday, and coordinating lunch and rest breaks to ensure continuous gate coverage. The position also serves as the designated safety monitor for the worksite, which includes monitoring weather conditions, ensuring appropriate precautions are taken, and promoting adherence to hydration, protective gear, and break schedules. The Lead travels between multiple gate locations each day to provide oversight and maintain consistent operational standards.
This position requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to lead by example in a high‑visibility, customer‑facing environment. The role involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions, standing for extended periods, and safely moving vehicles when necessary. Candidates must meet all installation and contract credentialing requirements and demonstrate the ability to perform effectively in a structured, safety‑focused operational setting.
All Contractor personnel performing work under this contract must complete a favorable background investigation and be eligible to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Common Access Card (CAC).
