Summary

Teacher Assistant for CLOSING SHIFT wanted--part time hours, scheduled 2:45-5:30pm 2-5 days per week.

The Teacher Assistant supports the Teachers and the Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. S/he must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. Assisting the staff in implementing a quality educational program and in developing positive relationships with the children and their parents, the Teacher Assistant is responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under the direction of the Teacher and the Director.

As a closer, you also assist with cleaning classrooms and restrooms. Cleaning includes sanitizing surfaces, restrooms, and floors (sweep, vacuum, mop)

Duties

• Supervise safety and wellbeing of children at all times
• Engage children in play and conversations, help create a positive environment
• Work with the Director and teachers as part of a team
• Interact politely with parents
• Clean classrooms or restrooms (1-2 rooms per shift)
• Uphold state licensing laws and procedures at all times

Requirements

• MUST pass full background check including criminal history, child abuse, and fingerprinting
• MUST love children respect all people
• Pass health screening (includes TB skin test)
• Positive attitude, team player
• Good attendance is required
• Perform physical job duties: lifting children (to and from diapering table), cleaning (includes mopping), being on your feet
