Job DescriptionMBS is hiring a Field Service Engineer in Erlanger, KY. This position is a full-time, direct hire opportunity. FULL JOB DESCRIPTIONPRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing onsite service and support to customers. This position is responsible for the day-to-day case management of any customer installation/ problems/ requests in a timely manner in order to maintain maximum customer satisfaction. In addition, Field Service Engineer must be customer focused at all times, must be prepared to work independently or as a part of a team.
  • Duties and responsibilities
  • Provides on-site installation, validation and commissioning of equipment. Verifies proper operation with needed testing.
  • Performs hands-on on-site troubleshooting, service and repairs.
  • Provides high level technical support to external customers at their location.
  • Translates customer needs into technical requirements, identifies technologies that meet those requirements.
  • Timely and professionally evaluates and resolves problems at customer sites or via phone; Evaluates, troubleshoots and provide timely appropriate responses and resolutions to customer problems and requests.
  • Collects detailed information, relies on experience and judgment to determine the most effective method of resolution.
  • Provides adequate product training for new and established customers and less experienced company staff; recommending methods that will improve and enhance performance of company’s equipment; explains product performance and benefits.
  • Works closely with Customer Service Coordinator, Product Managers and Sales & Marketing team to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution.
  • Attends all training courses and meetings as required by the company
  • Provides support for trade shows.
  • Provides client discovery and assessment support to the Sales team.
  • Observes and adheres to company health & safety guidelines and contributes to a healthy and safe working environment.
  • Timely completes associated administrative tasks and responsibilities (e.g. Service reports, travel schedules, expense reports, technical documentation, etc.)
  • Other duties may be assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of CNC and General Machine Tool Industry experience is required
  • Associates degree in Electronics and/or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent shop experience
  • Degreed or equivalent experience in electronics and motion systems
  • Overall familiarity with mechanical, electrical and optical systems
  • Metrology experience is a plus
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to travel at any time to various customer locations in all of North America which would include having or being able to obtain a passport. Primary travel will be within the 48 continental states
  • Must have programming and operational skills with CNC Controls (Fanuc, Heidenhain, Siemens and other)
  • Advanced knowledge in CNC turning and CNC milling
  • Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, indicators, voltmeters, oscilloscopes and other equipment necessary to perform the job
  • This position includes outside travel to customers’ premises. Travel up to 75%, which may include domestic/international travel, and overnight stay
  • Must have a sufficient personal line of credit to accommodate required travel and expenses such as hotel, flights, car rental and meals
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to move or lift to 50+ lbs.
  • Ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel.
  • Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination.
  • Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Communication skills.
