Duration: 12 Months (with possible extension)
Type: Contract On W2
- Electric transmission tower build experience OR Substation ground up build experience is required for this role.
- The HM might consider a PM with Civil background who has experience with Pipeline build experience.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver large-scale, high-visibility projects within the utility sector. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in electric transmission tower builds, substation ground-up construction, and utility infrastructure projects, along with strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and contract administration.
This role requires a results-driven leader who can manage risk, oversee EPC contracts, and successfully drive projects from initiation to completion while ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex, multi-year projects within the utility sector.
- Oversee development and implementation of project objectives, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Provide guidance to engineering teams on risk assessments, alternative analyses, and conceptual design presentations.
- Administer and oversee EPC contracts in line with corporate governance standards.
- Negotiate and manage third-party vendor contracts as needed.
- Drive adoption of company-wide best practices and project management standards.
- Present project updates and strategies to executive leadership.
- Resolve conflicts, arbitrate disputes, and ensure smooth project execution.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior project managers.
Required Skills Experience
- 10+ years of project management experience in the utility/energy sector.
- Proven experience in electric transmission tower builds and substation ground-up construction.
- Strong knowledge of SAP, Primavera P6, and Unifier project management tools.
- Solid understanding of land acquisition, CPUC requirements, environmental permitting, and EPC contracting procedures.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience presenting to senior executives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- PMP Certification (required).Minimum 8 years of relevant project management/engineering/construction experience (9+ years if from outside the utility industry).
