ABOUT THE ROLE

The mission for the Senior Project Manager is to ensure project management best practices are executed for the team’s portfolio of projects and new practice implementations, and that projects and implementations deliver their intended outcomes. This role also directly leads complex, high-stakes projects for Sound’s strategic imperatives, as well as leads multi-site or multi-service line new practice implementations. The Senior Project Manager develops others competency around project management by mentoring Project/Implementation Managers and providing strategic education on new and best practice processes as needed.

The Senior Project Manager has end-to-end level of responsibility for identifying business needs and articulating those from ambiguity to clarity. The role will collaborate with all business units across the enterprise and will focus on growing and maintaining professional relationships with stakeholders to ensure projects and programs in the portfolio are successfully managed and implemented.

The Senior Project Manager will report to Sound’s Vice President, Strategic Execution with accountability to the Chief of Staff.

Exceptional communication skills and a strong command of change management are essential, as this role requires guiding diverse teams through ambiguity, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring smooth adoption of new processes and solutions.

The Details: This is a full-time, remote role for a 5-month contract, with the potential for extension or conversion to a permanent position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serving as the business expert for project management, and ensuring relevant standards, processes, and best practices are upheld
  • Defining and structuring initiatives, managing direct reports and matrixed teams, and working closely with project Sponsors and Business Owners to ensure consistency in delivery of initiatives across the enterprise
  • Identifying and understanding how different projects interlink and overlap and facilitating connections to align work, when needed
  • Tracking strategic initiatives by monitoring progress towards goals and expected deliverables, analyzing data, ensuring follow-through on the part of Project Managers and key stakeholders, and sustaining momentum needed to drive key initiatives. Alerting the Vice President, Strategic Execution to progress or problems in carrying out the initiatives agreed upon
  • Leading complex, higher stakes projects for Sound’s strategic imperatives to their completion in a way that facilitates the finished project being wholly owned by the identified Business Owner on an ongoing basis
  • Leading all aspects of multi-site or multi service line new program implementations
  • Identifying opportunities for continual improvement in portfolio management with a view towards helping the Vice President, Strategic Execution propagate best practices throughout the enterprise
  • Reporting on portfolio performance to executive team and key stakeholders

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, healthcare administration or similar field and Project Management certification
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Process Improvement methodology; LEAN-Six Sigma for healthcare training is desirable
  • Knowledge of relevant state and federal healthcare regulations
  • Working knowledge of healthcare payment models, physician practice management, clinical and operational teams, technology, and central services
  • Business case development/analysis

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5 - 10 years’ project/program management experience required with 15 years of experience preferred.

Pay Range: $80-$110 per hour. Exact pay will be determined based on candidate experience and geographic location.
