Location: NEW ColoradoCool Retail Store - 631 Sherman St. Ridgway, CO
Start date: Late March/ Early April
ColoradoCool Apparel (Colorado-inspired clothing company - based in Grand Junction - colocool.com) is opening our second retail store on Sherman Street! We are hiring a retail sales associate to help staff the store. Starting at 10-20 hours a week.
The Sales Associate position’s primary responsibility is to create an enjoyable shopping experience for our guests. Sales Associate will perform a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by Store Management (e.g. cashiering, merchandising, customer service, and routine cleaning of facilities). Associate will be responsible for greeting guests with a friendly, engaging attitude, and is consistently prepared to provide service to each guest.
The ideal candidate would also have experience or interest in marketing and social media, creating content and reels to help promote the brand. Desire to work weekends and/or evenings (4- 7 or 8pm) a plus!
Customer Service
- Greet guests with a friendly attitude, and is consistently prepared to provide service to each guest.
- Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
- Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on guest needs and desires.
- Maintain and share knowledge of current sales and promotions, as well as policies regarding payment and exchanges
- Help guests with questions about merchandise
- Check out and bag store purchases.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of ColoradoCool's customer service expectations in order to meet the needs of every guest.
- Consistently perform leadership actions and maintain high standards, whether or not the manager is present.
Operations
- Develop and maintain knowledge of Point of Sale (“POS”) procedures to checkout guests purchases, returns & exchanges.
- Open and close cash registers, use magnetic card readers, perform tasks such as counting money, applying coupons, balancing cash drawers.
- Perform merchandising tasks, such as folding shirts, putting shirts in size order, handling restocking products, preparing displays, completing price markdowns, and inventory counts.
- Watch for and recognize security risks and thefts, and know how to prevent or handle these situations.
- Consistently maintain a clean, organized and shoppable store. This will include routine cleaning common areas (vacuum, wipe down surfaces, water plants, cleaning bathroom etc.)
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include mornings, evenings, and weekends, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, and the day after Thanksgiving, based upon store and business needs.
- Provide feedback to store manager regarding merchandise handling concerns.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 15-30lb boxes throughout the store and backroom.
Benefits
- Sick Time- 1 hour for every 30 hours worked for a max of 48 hours per year
Additional Considerations
- Must be comfortable in front of a camera for store/product promotion and social media posts
- There may be times when you'll be operating the store on your own (you'd be the only one staffing) must be comfortable in that situation, as well as locking up the store upon close.
